One Year of Quarterlife Finance
Posted By Admin On 21st August 2007 @ 21:18 In General | No Comments
Quarterlife Finance is officially one year old! One year of personal finance news, advice, tax tips, deals and promotions, and the inside scoop on the mortgage market. Overall, I am pleased with our progress this year. Readership has increased steadily, although I did see a huge increase in hits around tax time. I am also slowly working out the kinks in site layout to make Quarterlife Finance as user-friendly as possible - easy to read, easy to navigate.
I recently made a few changes to the site with that end in mind, including reducing the number and frequency of sponsored links, decluttering the sidebar, and increasing the size of the text area. Quarterlife Finance also [1] now has a Facebook group where readers can discuss the site and any issues or questions they may have.
A few points from the first year that I am not so proud of: limited posting frequency and limited subscribership. I believe that the two go hand in hand, and though I am not willing to push quantity of posts over quality, these are two issues that I hope to address in our second year.
In year one, one post stood out as extraordinary: [2] Stop Trigger Lists to Protect Your Privacy! This post was one of my favorites, espousing a great cause and providing tremendously useful information to readers. [3] Cash Flow and Free Money came in second place, describing my recommended structure for bank accounts as well as offering up an ING referral worth $25.
For the upcoming year, I have three specific goals. My first goal is to increase the frequency of articles from monthly to weekly or better. I also intend to do a better job of varying the content; year one spent a significant amount of time focused on mortgages. Finally, I hope to generate more response from readers.
So, thank you all for your yearlong support. I look forward to providing you with more useful news and advice over the next twelve months. If you are new to Quarterlife Finance, I invite you to subscribe using the form at the top right. Also, I welcome any suggestions, complaints, compliments, or ideas.
Here’s to a great second year!
